What clients say about working together
All Things IC delivered an internal communication workshop
“We hosted an internal communication workshop in 2015 and Rachel was our guest speaker. I needed an expert who could lead the session and give guidance on numerous communication challenges.
“She didn’t disappoint! Her passion and commitment for communication excellence is truly inspiring and the attendees left buzzing with ideas and excitement.”
Jessica Heudebourck, Lead Internal Communications Manager, Harrods.
All Things IC led an away day for O2’s internal comms team
“Rachel is one of those people who ‘gets it’ and really does know her stuff. She’s creative, hugely passionate about the value of internal communications and self-motivated with bags of fabulous experience.
“Rachel and I met when we worked together to deliver an O2 event specifically for our Internal Comms team. In the run up to the day Rachel worked hard to understand our business, our IC team and our challenges to really maximise what the team could take away from the day.
“Rachel’s considerable experience and assured manner immediately instilled confidence and she delivered a great day the team really enjoyed and that exceeded my expectations. Rachel combined her experience, impeccable stakeholder management skills and creativity, with her little black book (well it’s an iPhone) that’s bursting with invaluable contacts for speakers, venues and ideas to make sure we maximised every minute.
I can’t write this recommendation without singing about Rachel’s blog and keep your eyes peeled for great articles, guest blogs, ‘free stuff’ and books featured on her website. It’s a treasure chest of insight, nuggets, creativity and ideas.
Not only is Rachel an Comms superstar at the cutting edge of IC strategy and delivery, she’s also great fun to work with and I hope we get to work together again soon.”
Chloe Jeffs, Head of Campaign Communications, Public Affairs, O2
All Things IC advised on internal communication strategy and channels
“I came across Rachel’s profile when I was reviewing internal communications at Notting Hill Housing. The timing couldn’t have been better. Having gathered extensive feedback from across the organisation, as well as reviewing channels and content, we needed a fresh pair of eyes to guide our next step.
“I turned to Rachel to see if, based on our findings, our strategy and approach was right for our organisation and how our plan could be delivered in an engaging way. After just one meeting, I knew the project was in good hands. She showed great insight and understanding of the various nuances and was incredibly easy to work with. She has a wonderfully warm and sincere manner and is a true communications professional. I’m glad I found her and I look forward to working together again.”
Johannah Flaherty, Former Head of Communications, Notting Hill Housing
All Things IC conducted an internal communication audit
“The Zoological Society of London asked Rachel to conduct an internal communication audit for us when we were in between an outgoing and incoming HR Director. We (the Comms team) were keen to be able to approach the new HR Director with some concrete evidence of where we were in terms of internal comms. Rachel conducted a very thorough audit which included group discussions and one-to-one interviews with key personnel at the society, before providing us an in-depth review document which included a clear assessment of the existing IC culture and tips to move forward including quick wins and longer term strategic changes.
“Her work gave us the confidence to begin discussions with the new HR director straight away and many of her short-term and longer term recommendations have already been put into place or are underway. These included a complete staff survey, the setting up of a staff forum and number of smaller changes to the way communication happens across the organisation. We still have more to do and we will certainly engage Rachel again in the future. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough, and she is courteous, professional, a pleasure to work with and – most importantly – a complete expert in her field.”
Emma Edwards, Head of Communications, ZSL
Rachel spoke at Google’s HR event
“I asked Rachel if she would be able to support Google Atmosphere’s 2014 HR event by sharing her knowledge of internal communications. She spoke about the impact social media is having on the workplace and how businesses can benefit from employee social networking technologies.
“It was a brilliant presentation packed with relevant content delivered in a really personable style that engaged with the audience. I hope to work with Rachel again in the future and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an influential person who can attract a high calibre audience and deliver a cracking presentation”
Lyndon Fraser, Enterprise Account Manager, Google

Amanda Hepton-Patchett, Group Internal Communications Manager, Cambridge Assessment
All Things IC created a training session on social media for the comms team.
“Rachel is an expert in the world of internal communications and highly regarded by her peer group and organisations she works with. I asked her to provide my team and some colleagues with a valuable half day of training on social media and she exceeded my expectations! Highly researched and relevant, her content was thought provoking, fresh, and considered – she knows this stuff inside out. We hope to work together again in the future and I would recommend Rachel to anyone looking for expertise beautifully delivered.”
Jane Appleton, Former Director of Communications, St Andrew’s Healthcare
All Things IC trained employees on social media content and strategy
“Rachel really knows her stuff. Her knowledge of social media and internal communications is superb and her ability to deliver information to my team in a clear and succinct manner was exactly what was needed. I would not hesitate in using Rachel again for company training needs. I would also seriously recommend her to other clients.”
Cat Jordan, Former Head of Communications, Heathrow Express
Rachel opened the Institute of Internal Communication’s Central Region Seminar
“A respected and popular social media guru brought her disarming personality, warmth and wisdom to a networking event in Milton Keynes in which over 50 IC practitioners took part. I’ve seen and heard Rachel Miller speak several times but I always learn something new. Admittedly, my base of social media knowledge began low, so there’s plenty to learn.
“Even so, I think it’s more about Rachel: she’s able to deliver fresh insights and examples because she herself is keen to learn and she clearly devotes a fair proportion of her time to monitoring developments in ‘social.’ A willingness to continue learning and the humility to assume that one doesn’t know it all already, are essential for anyone who wants to master their brief, be it in IC or any other field.”
Steve Doswell, former Chief Executive, Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC)
Dr Leandro Herrero
Chief Executive, The Chalfont Project Ltd and Managing Partner, Viral Change
“Rachel is a communications professional who lacks something: a narrow view of the world of communications. She is able to navigate from big picture and strategy to small detail and implementation of ideas or use of tools. In the world of Internal/External/Corporate communications and Social Media, Rachel can provide the right GPS so you don’t get lost. She can also can take you to a proper destination.”
Chief Engagement Officer at Ketchum PR and past President, Chartered Institute of Public Relations (2014)
“Rachel is one of the foremost thinkers and doers in the area of social media and internal communications. She is a hard working professional with a phenomenal work rate. We worked together on Share This: The Social Media Handbook for PR Professionals (Wiley, 2012) and Share This Too: More Social Media Solutions for PR Professionals (Wiley, 2013) and shared a platform at a CIPR event at Facebook during Social Media Week 2012.”
Learning Communities Manager at Bromford
“Rachel approached me to write a guest article for her fantastic site at All Things IC and I have to say I jumped at the chance. Rachel is highly respected within the Internal Comms world (especially here at Bromford) and it’s not difficult to see why. She has a warm, sincere and highly professional approach to her work and is able to maintain this throughout her communication – whether that be on a one-to-one basis or within the public domain – you can’t help but find yourself wanting to work with her.”
Institute of Internal Communication Central Region Director
“Rachel spoke on coping with the digital evolution at the Institute of Internal Communication central regional seminar. She opened our conference in an engaging way and set us up for the day through her impassioned presentation. I enjoyed working with her and the feedback from our delegates was positive, with even the biggest technophobes inspired to give social media a try.”
Course Director, Internal Communication Postgraduate Diploma and Masters course, Kingston University
“Rachel has a huge passion for her subject that shines through whenever she speaks to a group. She is a real advocate for the effective use of social communication in organisations and her enthusiasm is infectious.”
Former HR Director, London Overground Rail Operations Limited (LOROL)
“Rachel brought pace and energy to the team and wider business. It has been a genuine pleasure working with such a committed and commercially astute communications professional. I and my Exec colleagues have learnt from Rachel, particularly the importance of the role of quality communications in delivering business success.
“Rachel has comprehensive knowledge and experience of best practice corporate communications – demonstrated by her substantive contribution during her time at LOROL. Rachel drove up employee engagement scores by over 25% in the perception of communications by our employees. This was acheived by delivering a new comms strategy which included new channels and creating a brand identity. Rachel proved highly effective in balancing internal and external communication challenges in a fast paced, diverse and unionised environment. Driven, results orientated, strategic and personable.”
“Rachel is a highly competent and energetic professional who has an infectious enthusiasm which rubs off on those around her. She is versatile, efficient and very effective. She was a joy to work with.”
