All Things IC is back…

All Things IC is back. I’m heading towards the end of my first working week post-maternity leave and would like to thank my existing and freshly signed clients, and blog readers for their warm welcome.

France_feetMy twin sons are now eight-months-old. This only leaves four months to figure out how to mark their first birthday on Christmas Day, and whether to choose an alternative ‘unbirthday’ date later in the year – ideas welcome!

I had to stop work earlier than planned in 2014 due to pregnancy complications. I’m forever grateful to the amazing NHS, and the wonderful employees at Ealing Hospital in West London.

Their care, compassion and support transitioned us through an incredibly difficult and worrying few months before, during and after the boys were born, and helped us all be here today. Thank you.

My family of five is pictured in a hammock in the south of France last week. (Well, our legs are…). It was great to introduce my sons to one of my favourite places in the world.

As I did with my daughter’s maternity leave in 2012, I used the time to enjoy being with my babies and delight in their daily development, but also develop myself.

What’s changed?

Maternity leave has enabled me to explore ideas and possibilities for All Things IC. I have reinforced my vision of where the consultancy is heading, and am excited to continue sharing that journey with you via my blog.

Expect to see new offerings and ideas over the next few months.

Thank you to the team at Sequel Group, who have been trusted advisers for people who got in touch with All Things IC during that time.

Thank you for your loyalty. It’s been interesting to note despite not writing as often, the All Things IC blog stats show professional communicators are continuing to search the site to help them do their jobs.

Here are some of the new resources I’ve introduced since being on leave:

  • The free All Things IC app – download it today to access this site on the move
  • Jobs – from internships to Global Comms Directors
  • What’s on this week – my Sunday overviews of what’s on to help you plan your time
  • Free stuff – a collation of some of the most popular articles to help you do your job.
