The annual Communicators in Business (CiB) awards took place in Birmingham, UK, last Friday night and I’m chuffed to bits to say that our team (Internal Communications) was honoured.
We won Awards of Excellence for our monthly employee magazine at Tube Lines, platform, and for the online news site our team produced in-house to publicise our Senior Managers’ Conference last year.
As well as scooping these two awards, the online news site also won a Class Winner trophy, which was a real boost for our team and the icing on the cake. This particularly meant a lot as we had completely project managed, designed, written and produced the site ourselves with no budget (credit crunch comms as its best!) and to extremely tight deadlines. Its aim was to let employees who aren’t senior managers know what was discussed, in the spirit of open and honest communciation in the company, and to dispell any perception that it was a ‘closed doors’ meeting.
Here we are with our winning trophy. (L-R: me, Web Channels Manager John Edwards, and Internal Comms Manager Louisa Wilson).
Congratulations to everyone else who won Awards of Excellence or Class Winners trophies through CiB. The standard seemed really high this year, so well done all.
Hi there,
Wanted to write in and share my blog on internal communications from India (www.intraskope.wordpress.com).
