Today I’m pleased to be able to share news with you about a new podcast that’s joining the For Immediate Release (FIR) podcast network: FIR presents AllthingsIC with Rachel Miller.

Yep, that’s me. Want to know who is doing what in the world of internal communication? You’re in the right place to find out.

Every month I will be bringing you the latest news and views from an internal communication perspective. As a keen listener of FIR over the years, I’ve enjoyed hearing Neville Hobson @jangles and Shel Holtz @shelholtz highlighting some of the good work that’s taking place globally with employees at the core. FIR has been a staple listen for me for a number of years, it premiered in January 2005 and I’ve constantly recommended it.

In recent months I’ve been featured on the show in a number of ways, with Neville and Shel mentioning my internal comms TV channel and had some of my recorded comments aired. I was delighted to be approached by them and to be adding to their FIR podcast network.

Information from the survey I ran in October asking for feedback on my blog showed that readers are interested in podcasts. My thanks to the people in my network who I have contacted over the past month or so to seek their views on the appetite for such a show and whose brains I’ve picked to discuss length and format. I’ve created the format based on your feedback.

What will I be doing?
My new monthly show will complement Neville and Shel’s existing podcasts (including the Hobson & Holtz report, Inside PR and FIR on strategy with Andrea Vascellari) by showcasing some of the best in class examples of effective internal communication, and also look at what isn’t working so well and what we can learn from it.

I’ll be sharing practical hints and tips in each episode and looking to see what tools and resources are around for IC pros to access. There are thousands of smart people working in internal communication globally and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to comment below or Tweet me @AllthingsIC if you have suggestions of something you’d like me to cover or to make me aware of.

You can find information about FIR on Twitter @FIRpodcastFacebook and Google+ and you will be able to access the (free) shows via iTunes, Podcast Pickle, and Podcast alley. You can also get the FIR app for your mobile device – iPhone | Android | Windows 8 / Windows Phone.

fir-iphone-handI will write an article to accompany each episode of “FIR presents AllthingsIC with Rachel Miller” so you have all the information from each show to hand and can sit back with a cup of tea and listen rather than feeling like you need to make notes.

Each monthly show will be 20-30 minutes long and the first one will be published on 26 November.

I look forward to communicating with you via my new show and hearing your thoughts back,

Rachel
