We’re pleased to be offering the opportunity for a dynamic communications professional to join the Communications Team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Recently featured in Series Three of the highly-acclaimed BBC Two documentary ‘Hospital’ our patients are central to all we do here at NUH and the Communications Team plays vital role in the delivery of the Trust’s ambition to be outstanding in health outcomes and patient and staff experience. This is an exciting time for the Communications Team following a period of redesign and expansion. As the Head of Communications you will be a member of the senior Communications Team and assist the Director of Communications and External Relations in the delivery of a quality-driven, highly innovative and customer-focused service.
Bringing with you proven communications experience, you will also have experience managing people and take a lead role in managing and leading the Communications Team day-to-day to ensure operational delivery of internal, external and communications priorities.
With the ability to turn a vision into reality you will also take a lead role in providing strategic communications support, ensuring the aspirations of the Trust and department are met through successful delivery of projects and campaigns for the Trust and wider health and social care system.
As an excellent communicator you will be able to establish credibility quickly, engaging the right people at the right time and work with our partner organisations to ensure our internal and external customer needs are met at all times.
You will be based at Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) with the ability to work across all Trust and external sites as needed. There is a requirement to work flexibly including out of hours on occasion and you will be part of the on-call rota, for which there is an additional payment.

The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
