Head of Internal Communications, Principality
Location: Cardiff, South Wales.
Job type: Permanent.
Salary: From £50,000pa, depending on skills and experience.

Reporting directly into the Chief People Officer, the role will ensure that our colleagues across 71 locations in Wales and the Borders are kept well informed and feel confident that they understand the journey the organisation is on.

The role holder will have a small dedicated team but will need to be experienced at coaching and influencing senior leaders and colleagues on becoming more self-reliant and confident to deliver communications that fit with the values and vision of the Board whilst drawing on the expertise of the Internal Communications team as subject matter experts.

The purpose of this role is to drive an effective communication strategy within Principality to support employee engagement and enable the delivery of crucial business objectives.

This will be demonstrated through the delivery of comprehensive and integrated internal communications across a large internal audience using a variety of creative vehicles and channels for maximum effect and efficiency.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and ensure effective implementation of the internal communication strategy
  • Steer the development of the new, wider internal channel suite, including a new social intranet •Lead on the programme of face-to-face communication, developing agendas, formats and content to achieve event objectives
  • Lead on communications of the WRU / Principality Stadium sponsorship to ensure everyone in Principality is aligned and engaged
  • Establish measurement tools to assess and analyse the effectiveness
  • Create and maintain the overall business narrative
  • Lead/oversee the team’s delivery of the internal communications across the organisation, maintaining excellence on all areas of internal communications within Principality
  • Manage relationships, whilst providing expert counsel and influencing skills to key senior stakeholders
  • Lead the team focusing on performance management and development
  • Oversee the internal communications budget investment focussed on maximising ROI.

What we are looking for:
We are looking to recruit someone who is strategic and creative in their thinking whilst at the same time happy to roll up their sleeves.

The successful candidate should have proven experience of working in an organisation that has embarked and delivered on transformation and experience of influencing and working successfully with business leaders at board level with a demonstrable understanding of business strategies.

Crucially you will be up to date with all contemporary communication techniques and technologies and confident in digital and social channels. You will ideally have experience of communication across a multi-site business and demonstrate creativity and innovation to ensure key messages land in an effective and efficient way.
