Internal Communications Manager, Nationwide

Salary: £50,337 – £72,709 (this range is based on 35 hours per week), salary dependent on skills and experience

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is flexible, able to think on their feet and respond to changing situations.

As a minimum you’ll:

  • Have extensive experience of managing multiple stakeholders, often with conflicting priorities
  • Be resilient, with drive and purpose
  • Be comfortable coaching and at ease influencing senior leaders with their communication priorities
  • Demonstrable experience of combining strategic and tactical skills to deliver desired business outcomes
  • Be experienced in all aspects of change programme planning and implementation from a communication perspective
  • Have a genuine willingness to step in and support colleagues across the internal communication team
  • Have perfected excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

What you’ll be doing

Our team’s purpose is to help colleagues understand our vision, believe we can make a difference and take personal action to help deliver our strategy.

Your role as a Community and Leadership Engagement Manager will see you work with our most senior leaders across Nationwide advising, guiding and supporting ExCo members on the most effective ways to engage their communities and equip people leaders with tools and resources so they can tell our story in their way.

You’ll create communication and leadership strategies to support business priorities and major change activity. You’ll manage a small team to help deliver our objectives and also take a key leadership role across the entire team. You will support the Head of Community and Leadership Engagement team in making sure the team are the best they can be.
