The council is set in a major tourism area with tourist attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse and with the Royal Family on the doorstep, the borough played a major part in the Royal Wedding earlier this year.
The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead has a busy and fast paced communications and marketing team having the Prime Minister and the Royal Family in our patch. But we also work to promote the wide range of services that the council offers to our residents.
We need a press officer to tell our story, who can write good, concise copy for a range of communication channels as well as someone who can respond to the wide range of press calls we receive.
This year we have worked on two Royal weddings and we have a local election next year where we will need someone who can throw themselves into communication campaigns, as well as social media and digital communications.
You will be working with a small dedicated team under the wider communications and marketing team.
Part of your role will be to build relationships with the media, councillors, and the senior leadership team as well as having excellent written and verbal communications. You should be motivated, creative, organised and have an interest in current affairs.
If you are up for the challenge, apply or have an informal chat about the role with Maddie Pinkham, Senior Communications Officer on 01628 796531.
Closing date: 14 October 2018
Interview date: 19 & 22 October 2018.
