Senior Communications Manager, General Dental Council
Contract: 12 months FTC
Salary: £47,170 – £55,494 per annum

About the role:
This role will be acting as deputy to the Head of Communications and Engagement in order to oversee and ensure the smooth running of the Communications and Engagement team while work to restructure and improve the unit is underway.
The role will be working with the Head of Communications and Engagement and the Internal Communications Manager to develop the strategic direction of the internal communications function and leading on the development and management of the internal communications programme, particularly in support and governance of the GDC’s Estates programme of relocating parts of its workforce to Birmingham over the next 12 months.
We are ideally looking for an individual from a regulatory environment or public-sector background who has experience in working within an internal communications role.
You will need to be able to demonstrate significant experience of working as a senior communications professional within a small team. You will need experience of successful development and delivery of change communications projects is essential to this role.
However, the role will also have a strong operational requirement to it and therefore it will be ideal with somebody looking for balance between both aspects.
You will be working with stakeholders at all levels, including internal senior stakeholders (i.e. Executive Directors, Council members). Therefore, you will need to be able to demonstrate strong negotiating and influencing skills, with the credibility to work with all levels of stakeholders.
