Celebrating a decade of All Things IC

Thank you to everyone who has sent my team and I kind messages this week as we’ve celebrated a decade of All Things IC.

Milestones like this are often only important to Founders. So we’ve flipped it on its head to be a celebration of all things internal communication related, to benefit internal communicators.

I established the business while I was on maternity leave with my daughter. I’d been blogging for four years and had been working in-house for 10 years, after being a Journalist for a few years.

Thank you to everyone who has worked with All Things IC since 2013. It’s a joy to advise and train internal communicators and watch you thrive.

I talked about starting out as a Consultant on Katie Macaulay’s podcast.

Ten years on, I’m proud of the work I’ve done and have particularly enjoyed building Team Teal over the past year. What a privilege it is to help more IC professionals together. I’m beyond proud of the work you’re doing and difference you’re making for so many internal communicators and their companies.

About All Things IC Live

We will be hosting All Things IC Live on 17 May 2023 in London and are inviting in-house internal communicators to join us in person.

Later in the year we will be hosting a virtual event so our Comms friends living further afield can join the celebrations. Look out for more info coming soon.

What is All Things IC Live?

Would you like to spend a day with fellow in-house internal communicators to learn about all things internal communication related?

Are you ready to discover fresh ideas and share your comms conundrums face-to-face?

Our popular Masterclasses and Masterminds are usually restricted to only eight IC professionals at a time.

We’ve super-sized the format and created All Things IC Live. It’s not a conference, but an opportunity to learn from and with 85 fellow in-house IC practitioners.

Our agenda includes Team Teal Talks on key topics, plus Table Talks so you can learn with and from each other.

How much are tickets?

We’re investing in All Things IC Live ourselves and aren’t having it sponsored. That means no judgement, pitching or pressure, but a day where you can focus on what matters to you.

Tickets are only £229 +VAT and will be released in two halves. They’ll be available from 10am UK time on 14 February and 1 March 2023 on a first come first served basis.

The links will appear on the dedicated page. Use the code INVOICE at the checkout to pay via invoice and my colleague Louise will be in touch from 24 February 2023 to complete your transaction.

We’ve worked hard to make the ticket price as low as possible and have contacted under-represented communities of Comms and PR practitioners with discounted tickets.

We recognise our Comms friends all learn in different ways, so there will be a recharge room available. This is a quiet place where you can reflect and recharge yourself and your mobile.

Feedback from Comms friends shows you want to mix with others from different companies, so we are requesting no more than two people please per organisation. If more of your team would like to come, please let us know and we’ll add them to a waiting list

What will the day be like?

You’ll hear from our experienced team of internal communicators – Rachel Miller, Caroline Cubbon-King and Dan Holden – throughout the day and have the chance to learn from peers too via the Table Talks/Mastermind sessions.

Our agenda includes Team Teal Talks on key topics, plus Table Talks so you can learn with and from each other on all things internal communication related.

You don’t need to prepare anything in advance, just be willing to talk in a small group on a table about comms conundrums or topics you want to ask for help with. See this article to learn more about Masterminds.

Everyone has the chance to sit in the hot seat. You don’t need to move and sit in an actual hot seat – see the room layout on the top photograph on this page.

It’s an accessible venue and the day runs from 10am to 4pm. See this video for a glimpse at the space.

Whether you’re struggling with change communication, strategy, channels, stakeholders, leadership or hybrid communication, there will be a discussion for you.

Where will All Things IC Live be held?

I recorded this short video last week when I was on site at the venue. I’ve used Wallacespace for Masterclasses since 2016. I opened the All Things IC Hub in 2019 and have continued using Wallacespace to host larger teams.

Wallacespace have a number of venues and we’re using their Spitalfields site, which is a short distance from Liverpool Street station in London.

I’ve hired the whole of the second floor, which means we have plenty of space to learn and network.

Your ticket includes breakfast, hot lunch, snacks and post-All Things IC Live drinks on site, so you can continue networking.

The day starts at 10am on the second floor, but you can arrive from 9am to have breakfast on the fourth floor. Wallacespace is famed for its delicious food, so do come and help yourself. We’ll also be hosting drinks in the venue from 4-5pm, which are covered by the cost of your ticket.
