Congratulations to the IoIC Award Winners

Comms professionals have been honoured by the Institute of Internal Communication’s (IoIC) National Awards.

Due to 2020’s antics, the IoIC had to reimagine Friday’s event and host it virtually.

It was wonderful to join 380 internal communication professionals to celebrate the winners of the #IoICAwards20.

Awards Chair Justine Stevenson and IoIC’s Chief Exec Jennifer Sproul were beamed live from the National Awards studio.

Jennifer kicked off the afternoon’s proceedings saying: “Like you I am sad that we can’t be together in person with the buzz of the room but it is wonderful that we can all be online to take the important time to reflect and celebrate our achievements after what has been an incredibly tough year!

“But a year we should all feel extremely proud of, we have demonstrated our impact and unique skills by helping organisations and our people through these challenging times and although the tough times sadly look to continue I know we will continue to shine.”

Justine said: “There’s been some fantastic work happening amongst the chaos, showing us, yet again, just how important internal communications is in our workplaces.”

She also thanked the judges, explaning how judging was a bit different this year: “We ran judging virtually. It was different but worked well and we are truly grateful to the judges for their continued dedication and flexibility. The judges are always impressed but this year several commented that they were truly blown away by the standard of entries; and that it was wonderful to see such dedication and excellence across the whole span of internal communication.”

In all, 34 class winners were handed out and the Grand Prix Award winner was the pinnacle of the evening. This top trophy went to: Your Best for Lloyds Banking Group by Lloyds Banking Group in partnership with ICF Next and Mind Gym.

Well done to everyone who was honoured in these awards. The standard was extremely high and I enjoyed judging again this year.
