Who are you and what are you known for as an Internal Communicator? Those questions are at the core of your personal brand – which I define as your promise and reputation.
I’m going to be talking about all things internal comms and personal branding related in May as I’m the opening keynote speaker for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Employee Communications Section Conference, Connect 19 #prsaconnect.
If you can’t join me in Phoenix, Arizona, you can get a taster of my talk now as ICology host Chuck Gose @chuckgose invited me to join him on his podcast to discuss the topic. It has just hit the airwaves and is available to listen to now.
Chuck says: “It truly was hard to believe but the last time Rachel Miller was on ICology was to talk about Brexit. . . nearly three years ago! But she’s back, but not talking about Brexit – even though the rest of the world is. Rachel Miller, the founder of All Things IC and knower of all things internal communications, is back to talk about how communicators can build a stronger personal brand inside their own companies.
“It’s a topic she’s passionate about and will be addressing as the opening keynote at this year’s PRSA Connect 19 conference this May. #prsaconnect.”
If internal comms is your passion, ICology is your podcast (I was so excited to hear Chuck say that in person when we recorded this episode last week!). Listen in.
Join me in Phoenix
Will I see you in America? Early bird tickets are available now and you can save $100 if you book before 23 April 2019. I’m really looking forward to this one-off trip and the chance to meet US communicators in person I’ve only met online.
It’s a fascinating agenda, I’m intrigued to see what’s popular in the IC world on the other side of the pond and note the similarities and difference between the conversations we’re having.
Alive with Ideas’ Alan Oram will be leading a workshop on unlocking your own brand of Comms magic, which sounds like fun. Speakers include Sean D. Williams on Earning your seat at the table: measurement driving strategy, Priya Bates on How effective communicators earn respect and Commsplaining with Chuck Gose and Kristin Hancock. See the full agenda.
