IC pros prepare for #insidestory awards

The shortlist for the upcoming #insidestory awards 2014 from CIPR Inside, the internal communication sector group of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, has been announced.

insidestory_stephCongratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted for an award, I am Deputy Chair of CIPR Inside and know that the committee is working hard on plans for the celebration ceremony.

It is taking place at the iconic Searcys The Gherkin, London, on 20 February. The evening will be presented by the broadcaster, Steph McGovern @stephbreakfast (pictured), who is the current Business presenter on BBC Breakfast.

The awards recognise organisations for their excellent work in internal communication and the list includes many well-known companies, with strong competition all round.

I am delighted to have been nominated and shortlisted in the Best Individual Contribution to Internal Communication category.

James Harkness, Chair of CIPR Inside (pictured), said: “Congratulations to Rachel. We have had a fantastic response to the awards. We received a great number of entries and they were of a very high quality. Our judges, experienced industry professionals, have rigorously assessed the entries and we are very pleased to announce the shortlist.

“The quality and number of entries show just how much the internal communication profession is growing and moving up the leadership agenda. A great range of entries were received, from a wide variety of organisations and sectors.”

This year saw some new categories being introduced – video, research and measurement, training, and best individual contribution.

James HarknessJames added: “The popularity of some categories reflects what’s currently important for our members. But as the professional association for Internal Communicators, we also want to recognise achievements in the disciplines that will be important to communicators in the future.

“They reflect the decisions of our judges and recognise the best of the best in each of the categories. We have shortlisted only the very best and hence they vary between categories.”

Best of luck to everyone who has been shortlisted, I look forward to discovering alongside you who the winners are on the night.

If you didn’t enter but would like to attend the celebration night, the venue looks stunning, and it’s a brilliant night to network with other comms pros. Tickets are now available, with the early bird rate (£85+VAT) ending on 31 January, so you need to be super speedy to grab that rate.
