What unicorns and IC have in common

Much like fabled unicorn tales, you’ll hear many myths and untruths surrounding internal communication. They reflect the reality of working as an internal communicator today.

Today I have a visual treat to share with you thanks to the super team over at Alive With Ideas. They took my Eight Internal Communication Myths blog post I wrote last summer and created this stunning infographic. I love it!

Thank you to Alan, Caroline, Alex, Andrew and the whole team for turning my words into this gorgeous image.

So what do unicorns and IC have in common? Myths and stories. I hear myths constantly in conversations with All Things IC’s clients and Masterclass attendees.

Want to know the full details behind the myths? You can read my original article here.

Professional communicator and comms cartoonist Helen Reynolds @helreynolds regularly features unicorns in her cartoons. I’ve had one on my desk since last week…

My five-year-old daughter was incredibly impressed to see my logo alongside a unicorn when I showed her, so thank you Alive for the brownie points.

What would you add? I have a document with 21 myths drafted and keep toying with the idea of publishing it. Perhaps I will one day.

But for now… enjoy.

Congratulations for the great article. Indeed, #5 is still a myth.
