The best part of learning is sharing what you know.
I agree with that quote from educator Vaughn K. Lauer and today I’ve got a brand new video to share with you so you can find out more about All Things IC Masterclasses.
The courses cover a range of topics and bookings are being taken for Internal Communication (refresher/booster) on 15 September, Strategic Internal Communication (for senior-level communicators) on 6 October and a Writing Skills Masterclass on 10 November.
Thank you to everyone who has booked on to a course so far. They are a day long, held at the fabulous Wallacespace in Covent Garden, and start from £399+VAT.
They’ve been designed by and for professional communicators and feature theory, advice, tips and coaching. Plus they provide ample opportunity to learn by sharing what you know.
Attendees who have signed up so far include comms pros from the UN, Welwyn Hatfield Council, Sheffield Hallam University, St John Ambulance and Centrica.
Places are going fast as there’s a maximum of 10 per Masterclass. I’m running the IC ones and the marvellous Helen Deverell @helendeverell is running the Writing Skills one.
So if you’re thinking about signing up, act quickly!
Here’s the video:
Earn while you learn
If you’re an Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC) or Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) member, you can claim 10 CPD points for attending an All Things IC Masterclass.
Based on your feedback and popular demand, I’m going to run a Masterclass in December focusing on how to work well with your comms agency.
Look out for more info coming soon and thank you to everyone who answered my poll on Twitter the other week.
I’m going to invite an agency head to join me so you can hear both sides of the story. Stay tuned!
Personal development
I’ve just spent this morning at a breakfast briefing event in London hosted by HarknessKennett.
It featured Sam Hodlin, Head of Internal Communications at Eurostar and Ruth Jackson, Head of Communications & Engagement at Premier Inn Whitbread.
They were talking about reaching hard-to-reach employees. I joined 40 other comms pros who hear first-hand the challenges they’re facing and what steps Eurostar and Whitbread are taking to reach their workforce effectively.

I value my own personal development and am an Accredited Practitioner with CIPR and Fellow of both CIPR and IoIC.
I place enormous value on constantly improving. I also offer All Things IC clients and my blog readers an insight into what I’m reading, who is doing what and ways to keep updated, to share my learning.
I enjoy judging industry awards such as IoIC Awards and CIPR Inside, and keep an eye on events to choose how and where I can learn more.
Why?
You are never too old or too experienced to learn something new.
Let me know what you think of the video and I hope you have a good week.
