“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves”
Congratulations to all the professional communicators who had their hard work recognised at the Institute of Internal Communication awards on Friday night.
It was a pleasure to judge this year’s IoIC Awards, which had a high calibre of entries this year.
The stunning setting of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London provided a fitting backdrop to the ceremony, which was attended by hundreds of communicators.
The historic venue celebrated and recognised the best in the business at Europe’s oldest awards for the industry.
I enjoyed catching up with clients, friends and contacts. Well done to the IoIC Awards committee and everyone who was honoured on the night.
I was sat next to fellow judge and All Things IC Masterclass trainer Helen Deverell @helendeverell (we’re pictured together, below).
Institute chief executive Jennifer Sproul said the awards had been running for 62 years and the event was designed to “celebrate the good – and the downright amazing – in internal communication today.”
The Gold Award winners – the ‘crème de la crème’ – were the pinnacle of the evening and these three top trophies went to the British Heart Foundation/Wardour Communications (Print), HSBC (Digital) and Reward Gateway (Campaign).
As well as the 36 class winners, announced at the venue by ‘the voice behind the Lottery numbers’ Alan Dedicoat, many more entries received Awards of Excellence.
IoIC @IoICNews awards chair Justine Stevenson said: “This year’s entries were of an incredibly high standard. Class winners and award of excellence winners can truly celebrate ‘greatness’ and be proud of their achievement.”
