Today was day one of Melcrum’s Strategic Communication Management summit (billed as THE event for internal communicators in Europe). (#scmuk on Twitter).
With day one drawing to a close I’m reflecting on a busy day with lots of highlights and the key theme of trust running throughout.
It’s been fantastic to meet professional communicators face-to-face that I’ve spent months tweeting and emailing. Today really reinforced for me the importance of ‘seeing the whites of eyes’ to truly establish good relationships.
I experienced my first world cafe, watched harrowing but effective safety videos from Network Rail, heard how banks have devised internal communication strategies to weather the financial storm and discovered the traits of the best companies to work for.
Tomorrow has another packed agenda so I’m looking forward to what the day will bring. I will write a more detailed post on the good bits from today and share that with you very soon.
