NHBC has an excellent opportunity for a Corporate Communications Manager to join the business on a permanent Part Time Job Share basis working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The role will be supporting the over-arching Marketing & Communications departmental objective of delivering commercially disciplined, insight-based integrated marketing campaigns by managing NHBC’s corporate communications activity, ensuring that the brand maintains a positive reputation at all times.

The successful candidate will:

-Have responsibility for the dayto-day management of Corporate Communications.

-Ensure that there is provision in place for out of office hours cover so that this is seamless throughout the working week and during periods of sickness absence and annual leave

-Manage the Issues Radar, keeping it always updated and ensuring robust monitoring is in place via Gorkana, Google Alerts, social listening tools and Corporate Affairs input. Ensure approved positioning statements/ reactives exist for all issues noted on the radar. Produce a monthly update of positioning statements and share this with ExCo

-Liaise closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications, Corporate Affairs, Internal Communications and Strategic Marketing Managers to inform and advise them on strategy, campaign planning/theming, alignment of messaging

-Coordinate and oversee proactive corporate PR campaigns including speaker platforms and amplify integrated marketing campaigns as required

-Deputise for and support the Head of Marketing and Communications and/or Senior Marketing Manager (Strategic Advisory) as required

-Ensure timely sharing of coverage notes and useful insight to senior management

-Support ExCo and other senior stakeholders with significant corporate content production including key speech and presentationwriting, Annual Report drafting etc

-Oversee the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of NHBC’s media profile, as well as our competitors and the wider industry. Share data and insight with the Marketing & Communications team and ExCo

-Develop and maintain positive relationships with national, consumer and trade journalists to generate mutual understanding and enhanced media coverage

-Develop strong relationships with communications colleagues within the industry to maximise opportunities and strengthen NHBC reputation through partnership initiatives

-Utilise the retained PR agency as per their specifics of our agreement

-Manage agreed budget and evaluate effectiveness of proactive corporate PR campaigns

-Support the Customer Engagement team during busy periods or when the PR and Communications Officer is absent

About you

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills operating at a senior level with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.  Demonstrable knowledge of PR in both traditional and online/social media contexts.  Experienced in developing strong working relationships with journalists across national, regional, trade, consumer and broadcast media.  Excellent creative skills and experience of developing and running successful creative campaigns.  Excellent copywriting and editing skills for new released, feature, web copy and presentations.

Salary / Benefits:

-£40,500 £47,500 (Pro Rata)
