Director of Communications, Ofqual
Salary: £80,000 max

Ofqual is currently undergoing a significant period of growth as we take on our expanded role in the external quality assurance of Apprenticeships and continue to deal with challenges presented by Covid-19.
The Director of Communications will play a pivotal role in Ofqual’s new chapter. We are looking for an accomplished leader with the ability to inspire and engage a high performing team and provide expert advice to the Chief Regulator.
You will almost certainly have an appetite for developing people, using new approaches and behaviour to create an environment that encourages challenge and innovation, as well as professional expertise and an astute awareness of the wider education and training landscape.
The Communications team is made up of approximately 10 staff and is responsible for media relations, internal communication, publishing, digital communication and consultation.
The Director of Communications is a member of the Senior Management Group and will regularly attend board meetings to advise on communications.

Terms and conditions of employment
Please note that this post is open on a permanent, full time basis. However, part-time and job share may be considered due to business needs.
The grade of the role is SCS1.
The salary range for this role is Up to £80,000.
The role will be based in Coventry.
Hours of work
The successful post holder will be required to work a minimum of 36 hours, excluding lunch breaks. You will be required to work such additional hours as is reasonable and necessary for the efficient performance of your duties.
There is a probationary period of six months for all new entrants. Subject to satisfactory performance, the post holder will be transferred to permanent establishment at the end of their probation.
On appointment the post holder will be entitled to 40.5 days annual leave.
