Home to two of the world`s great artistic companies – The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet, performing with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House – we bring together the arts at their very best performing in our Covent Garden home, as well as in cinemas and online around the world.
We want many more people to enjoy and engage in exceptional ballet and opera, and have developed our 2017-2022 Strategic Plan to support us in this aim.
We are seeking a Head of Communications to join our Audiences and Media team to play a significant leadership role in shaping our reputation with a broad range of stakeholders across the political, digital and media sectors in the UK and internationally.
Responsible for media relations, corporate communications, issues management, press & publicity and social media, this role will be a member of the Audiences and Media senior leadership and will be responsible for a team of eleven staff.
The successful candidate will have an exceptional track record of leading strategic communications at a senior level. With experience of harnessing the changing media context and proven ability to build relationships with media influencers across a range of channels, as well as the traditional press and arts critics, they will have the values, vision and drive to lead a high performing team who will enhance and develop the distinctive reputation and influence of the Royal Opera House.
