Internal Communications Manager, Marsh

Location: New York City, Toronto or London office

MarshWe’re seeking a proven leader to provide strategic communications advice and counsel to executives and business leaders across Marsh as we undergo transformation across some of our key business functions.

As the Internal Communications Manager, you will help develop and deploy global communication programs for global senior stakeholders, ensuring the right message, right audience, right channel and right time.

Key accountabilities include supporting growth and business priorities, people-focused strategic initiatives through clear, concise and effective communication strategies.

You will work closely with colleagues across all business areas, as well as Marketing, Communications and Sales to ensure consistent messaging and communication of priorities to colleagues.

Your role is critical to Marsh as you will be providing specialized communication support and project management for the development, execution and measurement of multi-channel internal communication strategies that support and enable the organization’s growth strategy.

In this role, you will report to the Global Internal Communications Leader and be part of a team of diverse and highly talented professionals who are dedicated to partnering with the business to drive strategy and communication.

We will count on you to:

  • Develop and execute an organization-wide change communications strategy.
  • Engage stakeholders to architect a single voice for the organization by providing internal (and sometimes external) communications for organization-wide change communications to ensure alignment of messages with the organization’s strategy and roadmap.
  • Execute complex change communication deliverables by articulating difficult concepts into a compelling message and influencing direction while gaining alignment across senior stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex concepts, converting information into compelling business context and advice
  • Draft, design, edit and deploy employee communication material, utilizing diverse channels to reach target audiences and meet communication/project objectives.
  • Manage projects effectively, delivering on time and within budget, utilizing appropriate resources, anticipating risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Support Global Internal Communications Leader on development, deployment and measurement of diverse communications strategies and programs that align with “best practice” approaches.
  • Develop and maintain global communications calendar and integrated message platform to ensure consistent, relevant and timely delivery of internal communication material (include target audience, timing, channel mix, etc.)
  • Develop ongoing feedback loops and leverage diverse methods, tools and channels to communicate to the organization, focusing on enabling collaboration and interactive dialogue. Leverage input/feedback to inform the Marsh Executive Committee and influence messaging for growth assets and communications.
  • Create and maintain online content, including supporting the design of internal intranet web pages, writing, updating and publishing content.

What you need to have:

  • 7+ years of communications or marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, human resources or related field of study
  • Advanced knowledge of change management principles, industry standards and methodologies, project management, organizational and business transformation practices
  • Advanced editing, proofreading and composition skills coupled with proven technical and persuasive writing skills
