Staffordshire County CouncilIf so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our award-winning communications team as a content assistant.

This is a new position in our team, and is a great role for someone who is eager to learn and grow in communications, particularly in the digital and social media industry.

Our Communications Team delivers marketing and campaigns work, media relations and reputation management, digital communications, internal communications, place marketing, and more! It’s our job to connect with people across Staffordshire about the work the council is doing to make the county a great place to live, work, and visit.

Main responsibilities

  • Working with a content creator, and our social media manager, this assistant role will be responsible for creating engaging, appealing content linked to council work.
  • This will involve getting out and about across the county to take great photos and videos, editing them for our various platforms, and sharing them across our channels.
  • You’ll help our communications team bring their content ideas to life, and work with other internal colleagues to create content that’s relevant, interesting, and grabs our audiences’ attention.
  • You’ll also keep an eye on our social media channels and respond to comments and spot any issues, and track how our content is performing.

 

The ideal candidate

We’re looking for someone who can take great photos and videos, edit them to perfection, and create engaging content that will wow our audiences. So, you will need to be able to use a variety of equipment to film and record, and be familiar with editing software such as Adobe Premier and InDesign. You’ll need to be confident and engaging on-camera too, as you’ll be appearing in some of our TikTok and Instagram videos.

You should have a good understanding of social media and experience of a range of platforms. Also, we need you to be great at spotting emerging trends and opportunities, and be able to react quickly and effectively.

As this role will involve getting out and about across the county, we also need someone who is willing and able to travel to capture content of people and places around Staffordshire.
