Podcast: Reflecting on the history of internal communication

Thank you to Dr Joe Chick for interviewing me for the History of Internal Communication podcast.

The episode has been published today and features our conversation reflecting on the past, present and history of the wonderful world of internal communication.

Dr Chick is a Research Fellow on the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded project An Institutional History of Internal Communication in the UK. The project is integrating historical research with organizational theory and involves 20 organizations, six who have been fundamental for the practice of IC in the UK, and 14 with historically practiced internal communication.

Their website is packed with fantastic resources, including this season of the History of Internal Communication podcast.

In the episode we discuss my route into internal communication, my thoughts on Artificial Intelligence, changes I’ve observed over the past 20 years, why creating a sense of community is important and much more.

We also talk about my upcoming book – Internal Communication Strategy: design, develop and transform your organizational communication, which is being published by Kogan Page next year.

You can find the episode via your favourite podcast player, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google podcasts.
