Last year, I took Rachel’s How to be a Comms Consultant - Exploration course. It set me up for launching my own business and gave me the confidence I needed to bring Authentic Comms Strategic Consultancy to life. I 100% recommend this if you’re considering being a communications freelancer/consultant. Thank you Rachel Miller - properly inspiring, especially with the blog writing and values side.

Rachel coached me when I moved from working in an agency on external comms to working in-house on internal comms. It was quite the leap, and my sessions with Rachel gave me the confidence I needed to get up and running quickly and also spot where I could make a difference in my new role. What Rachel doesn’t know about internal comms isn’t worth knowing, and I’m now working with her to coach my team. She’s also an absolute joy to work with – 100% professional but also warm, engaging and fun!

I asked Rachel if she would be able to support Google Atmosphere’s HR event by sharing her knowledge of internal communications. She spoke about the impact social media is having on the workplace and how businesses can benefit from employee social networking technologies. It was a brilliant presentation packed with relevant content delivered in a really personable style that engaged with the audience. I hope to work with Rachel again in the future and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an influential person who can attract a high calibre audience and deliver a cracking presentation.

Rachel’s knowledge and passion for internal comms is brilliant and extremely infectious, I left the masterclass with a renewed love for what I do. Having always worked in the public sector, I’ve attended training and networking in the past where the trainers and facilitators have no idea about the pressures of working in a communications team which has no budget, or very limited one at best. Rachel had a wealth of knowledge which is applicable to all sectors which is both engaging and encouraging. Thank you, I hope to attend more of Rachel’s classes in the future.

I became a client of Rachel’s in 2018 as I transitioned into my first ‘Head of’ role. Rachel has been a phenomenal coach, mentor and sounding board during the six months we’ve worked together and what struck me more than anything is her desire to openly share her work, her considerable experience and expertise to make me a better practitioner and succeed. Rachel is warm, engaging and has celebrated my wins every step of the way, as well as providing me with a safe space in which to share frustrations and challenges – and effective strategies for overcoming these!
Through our time together, and with her guidance, I have undertaken an IC audit, added two very talented team members, developed our communications strategy, principles and levels of service. I couldn’t recommend Rachel more highly and wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again.

I really enjoyed working with Rachel, who delivered a bespoke masterclass to our Internal Communications team. From the outset she was professional, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and continued in that vein throughout the project.
She spent time getting to know our organisation through conversations, and reviewing documents and examples of our work and approach, meaning that she was able to personalise our masterclass and help us address some of our challenges. I’m sure these aren’t a million miles away from those faced by the other communicators, but as she was speaking in our languages and terms, it made it feel much more personal. It was clear that she had taken the time to really understand what we were looking to get out of the masterclass.
Her insight into trends and best practice was incredibly useful and has given us food for thought and some steps we can take to improve what we do. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rachel, and hope we can work together in the future.

I was booked to attend one of Rachel's masterclasses in London but when this got cancelled due to the pandemic, she offered me a dedicated 121 session which was fantastic. It was very beneficial to get that kind of expert support on such an intimate basis. I'd submitted what I thought was a bit of an unrealistic wish list of things I wanted to cover in our session but Rachel managed to cover it all and more. This included comms strategy development, and personal and professional positioning. She shared some great tools, techniques, coaching advice and a podcast to check out too. It’s hard to put into words without sounding cheesey but the strategic comms masterclass was some of the best training I’ve ever recieved. Some times with these things you have moments of “I’ve heard that before” or “I’m already doing that” but I can honestly say that even if there was something familiar to me, Rachel approached it in a whole new way that challenged my thinking on it. I was made to feel both reassured that I’m doing all the “right” things but also pushed to think about whether they’re working and to consider new approaches and ideas. Rachel has such an easygoing way that is really inclusive and involves everyone, so you feel comfortable sharing your own experiences. She offers lots of solutions, ideas and advice too.

A recently appointed Executive Director at Incommunities asked us to support her to review the Communications Team and to make recommendations on ways of working. She wanted to maximise the impact of the team and ensure it was best placed to support the business as it grew. We provided resources for the Executive Director to carry out some internal listening exercises and worked directly with the team via interactive workshops to explore how they work now, the standards they set and the barriers they face.
Together, we identified the working practices and foundations that need to be in place to set the team up for success.
"All Things IC really worked with me and gave options to get the outcome I needed. They gave me a clear plan for what I needed the team to do. Really great people to work with. They understood my needs and worked with me on a plan to get the outcome I needed."

I have to admit I was a little apprehensive when I first joined the Inner Circle, but from the very first session my fears were allayed and I quickly felt at ease in the group. I was fortunate enough to work with Rachel during one of the most stretching periods in my career. Her advice and support as my mentor could not have come at a better time for me personally, as I led a large internal comms function through a series of dramatic changes that affected my team and organisation on both a professional and personal level. The internal communications team at Mars Wrigley UK developed their internal communication strategy using The MILLER Framework.
"The framework was perfect in enabling us to see what we needed to do to provide best-in-class communications to excite and engage – bringing our unique culture to life by connecting Associates to our goals, strategy and purpose. It helped us to get the right mindset and set our goals based on what our Associates were telling us, achieve buy-in from our leadership team and then set a strategy which was measurable and could be evaluated.
"The MILLER Framework makes sense and is grounded on solid principles. It has helped to guide and steer us and this is what we needed. Rachel and her team are known as the best in the business because she truly understands and values internal communications and sees where it should be within business – at the heart and forefront!"
