What’s on this week

Whats on this week What does your week ahead look like? I’m regularly contacted by comms pros who want to know if I’ve heard of any upcoming comms events, courses and networking events.

So from now on I’m publishing ‘What’s on this week’ to highlight what’s going on in the world of comms over the next seven days.

It’s a busy one to kick off this series as there are various events over the coming week, grab a cuppa and I’ll guide you through.

PR Week’s PR360 event

PR360_PR Week’s PR360 event is taking place in London from Monday to Thursday, and All Things IC is proud to be a media partner. See my article to discover how to save 10% off your tickets.

culturevist I’ve written about Culturevist events a number of times, they are free and for people interested in organisational culture. A taskforce has been created by the like-minded people, who are a mix of Comms and HR professionals.

On Wednesday this week, 29 April, there is a Culturevist meet-up at Asos in London which looks at organisational culture in the fashion industry. Find out more and reserve your space.

IoIC Live 2015

IoIC Live 2015From Thursday 30 April to Friday 1 May, the Institute of Internal Communication is holding its annual conference.

The theme this year is: How can internal communication professionals ensure they are agile and able to adapt to change to be tomorrow’s business partner today? 

It’s taking place at the Grand Hotel in Brighton and includes evening workshops on Thursday evening followed by a whole day of talks, debates and networking on Friday. If you’re unable to attend, follow IoIC on Twitter @IoICnews or the dedicated hashtag: #ioiclive15.

I rejoined the IoIC recently but unfortunately am unable to attend the conference this week, you can read my thoughts from 2014 via my blog.

Responsive orgMonday 27 April is the latest Responsiveorg London meet-up, with 250 people scheduled to attend. It includes workshops and an unconference. Full info and tickets.

Friday 1 May is ResponsiveCoffee at the Alzheimer’s’ Society, London. Full info and tickets.

They are part of the #responsiveorg movement (I wrote about responsive org when I went to the unconference in May 2014).

The early bird deadline for the Institute of Internal Communication awards has just passed, so the closing date to get your entries in is 8 May 2015.

Entries are being sought for the Digital Impact Awards (deadline 8 June 2015),  Corporate Engagement Awards (deadline 14 May 2015), CIPR Pride Awards (deadline 10 June) and Melcrum awards (deadline 12 June) .

28 April: Writing for online audiences course is being held at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in London.

29 April: Writing better press releases course is also being held at CIPR.

1 May: Ragan Comms webcast – Communication strategy and employee engagement practices.

#commschat takes place on Twitter every Monday evening at 8pm (London time). Comms pros globally unite to discuss the latest topics. Join in using the hashtag and see the commschat website for full info.

The For Immediate Podcast network publishes a whole series of podcasts for comms pros. The Hobson & Holtz report comes out weekly and is well worth a listen, it’s 90 minutes of useful information to help you keep updated.

My own internal comms podcast is part of this network, and will be back later in the year when I return from maternity leave.

The latest comms jobs
