How important are writing skills for effective internal communication?
Got an opinion on this topic? I’d love to hear it – I’m co-hosting tomorrow’s #CommsChat and you’re welcome to join in.
The chat is taking place on Monday 18 July from 8-9pm GMT on Twitter.
I’ll be joining communicator Helen Deverell @helendeverell (pictured) to co-host the chat.
We will explore the value of writing, its effectiveness in improving internal communication – and whether alternatives might be just as valuable.
See the CommsChat website for topics and full information.
Improve your writing skills
Helen is facilitating an All Things IC Masterclass on Writing Skills on 10 November 2016 in London. She’s an experienced communicator and writer and her session promises to be packed with top tips and advice.
All Things IC Masterclasses are face-to-face courses developed by and for professional communicators to help you boost your knowledge.
Helen’s course is ideal if you write for print or online channels including employee magazines, newsletters, intranets, enterprise social networks, external websites or social media.
You’ll leave with the practical knowledge, skills and confidence to:
- write and structure communications for different audiences and channels
- edit and proof colleagues’ work
- identify what makes a good story.
Masterclasses have a maximum of 10 people, so book early to save your space. Helen’s session costs £399+VAT per person.
If you’re a CIPR or IoIC member you’ll gain CPD points for attending.
There are two other Masterclasses planned over the next few months and places are going fast. Attendees include professional communicators from the UN, Welwyn Hatfield Council, Sheffield Hallam University, St John Ambulance and Centrica.
Sign up to attend Internal Communications on 15 September or Strategic Internal Communications (for senior-level communicators) on 6 October. I’m running both of these and am looking forward to them.
